2012 Summer Institute Registration

REGISTRATION DATES: May 21 - July 15, 2012

REGISTRATION FEES: There is no registration fee for accepted participants.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

NBCR Summer Institute 2012 invites interested participants to submit an application through the online registration process using Regonline.com.

Step 1: Please prepare the following documents, you will need to upload them during your registration:

  1. Copy of your CV;
  2. One page description of your ongoing project and how it would benefit from the software training and personal interactions at the NBCR Summer Institute;
  3. Filled out NBCR SI 2012 Pre-participation Survey regarding your choice of tracks and your familiarity with the tools to be used. This survey will help the instructors to plan their course materials accordingly.
  4. If you would like to apply for the NBCR SI scholarship, please include a PDF copy of a current poster, and a letter of recommendation from your advisor.

Step 2: submit your NBCR SI 2012 Registration

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Scholarship: Limited number of scholarships are available based upon qualifications, needs and availability of funds. Scholarship applicants are required to submit the abstract, the full poster in PDF if available, and a letter of recommendation from your immediate supervisor/mentor at the time of registration. Scholarship recipients will be reimbursed for eligible expenses related to NBCR SI 2012 within 60 days of receipt of all required documentation.

Letter of Invitation: International participants requiring a letter of invitation must request the letter by June 15, 2012. Please provide necessary express mail service account information or credit card number if expedited delivery is requested. Please send request to Dr. Wilfred Li, wilfred at ucsd.edu.

Required Equipment and Software: Each participant is expected to bring a laptop of less than 3 year old, with an operating system comparable to Mac OS X 10.5.8, 10.6+; Windows 7 or CentOS 5.4+. Please check the course wiki 2~4 weeks before to make sure you have all the necessary software preinstalled.
